Kano protest turns bloody as thug paid N500 is beaten to near death, Cars, Houses burnt

 The EndSARS protest in Kano State has taken an unfortunate dimension following a clash between the peaceful protesters and sponsored thugs on Tuesday, October 20.

As the protesters were marching in the State capital, sponsored thugs were dropped a few meters away in several vehicles. The thugs wielding weapons like sticks and machetes immediately advanced towards the protesters who scampered for safety.

According to Eyewitness, some brave protesters stood their ground and confronted some of the thugs who retreated. One of the thugs was apprehended and severely beaten.

The thug, consequently, as a result of the pressure and intimidation confessed that he was paid N500 to disrupt and cause mayhem in the Kano EndSARS protest.

“They gave you N500 to come and attack us?” Asked the protesters. The thug who is bleeding profusely from a big cut on the head and forehead nodded his head in response.

In other places in Kano State, Alpha Clinic was burnt down. Also, St Thomas Catholic Church was in flames. Several cars belonging to the EndSARS protesters have also been burnt.

The State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is yet to react to the inferno, however, several policemen have taken over the state capital as looting especially at Galaxy Mall continues.

Two persons have been reportedly killed by the thugs.
