Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has said the EndSars protests “could turn into terrorism”.
The governor advised the youths to be cautious in their claims of police brutality, saying “Boko Haram also started with bloodshed against motorcyclists”.
Zulum made the remarks to reporters on Friday shortly after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Villa Presidential Palace on security issues.
“You see the situation now. Nearly one million people have lost their homes and the young and the weak are the most affected,” he said.
“Some of those who led the protests are not in Borno right now. They are in Abuja or Lagos or even abroad. We have to be very careful.”
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also reported to Buhari on the losses caused by the EndSars protests in the state.
