Gunmen slaughter more than 40 farmers in Borno'


Reports from northeastern Nigeria's Borno State say suspected Boko Haram militants have stormed farms, killing more than 40 people.

The incident took place on Saturday morning in Kwashebe Zamarmari area of ​​Jere Local Government Area, as some local residents confirmed to the BBC.

They said the attackers attacked the farmers while they were harvesting rice. And reports say the farmers were tied up and slaughtered

There was no immediate word from the military or police about the attack.

Boko Haram and ISWAP militants continue to carry out attacks in northeastern Nigeria despite claims by authorities and security forces that they are weakening.
