Maradona's doctor is accused of killing the footballer

 

Doctor Diego Maradona is being investigated on suspicion of murder, following the death of a famous Argentine footballer on Wednesday.

Police in Buenos Aires raided Leopoldo Luque's home for an investigation and a private hospital to find evidence of negligence, after Maradona's daughters complained of neglecting their father's illness.

Maradona died of a heart attack on Wednesday at the age of 60.

In early November, he underwent successful surgery to freeze blood clots in his brain and his health is being monitored for his dependence on alcohol.

Throughout his life he struggled with drugs and illness near the end of his life.

Maradona led Argentina to victory in the 1986 World Cup.

And he is considered one of the best footballers in the world.
