Ramos, who missed two penalties against Switzerland, has surpassed Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon in the number of games played.
The Real captain has previously scored in a free kick 25 times for Spain and Madrid.
Hosts Switzerland opened the scoring through Remo Freuler in the 26th minute.
Switzerland ended the match with 10 men on the pitch, after Nico Elvedi was shown a second yellow card and a second penalty for a foul on Morata.
Spain pulled one back through Gerard Moreno after Sergio Reguilon had been fouled.
Spain now need to beat Germany on Tuesday in Sevilla if they are to reach next year’s Nations League.
