The Houthis have said they will launch new attacks in Saudi Arabia

Houthi rebels in Yemen have warned they will step up attacks in the coming days on Saudi Arabia in response to blockades of ports and airports in areas controlled by the group.

Al-Masira news agency, which is affiliated with the group, quoted a Houthi spokesman as saying that they would attack "key Saudi military and economic facilities.

The militants also called on Saudis and foreign companies inside and outside the country to stay away from key targets.

The Saudi-led coalition has stepped up attacks in areas controlled by Houthi rebels.

Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies are backing the Yemeni government and the Saudi-led coalition has seized control of the ships to prevent the flow of weapons to the Houthi rebels who have seized control of the Yemeni capital and other parts of the country.

The crisis in Yemen is thought to be exacerbated by a change of government in the United States in which Joe Biden disagrees with Trump on US policy in Saudi Arabia.
