King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia has called for an Istisqa (water prayer) to be held across the kingdom on Thursday, according to a statement from the country’s Supreme Court.
The statement said that the introduction of the prayer water is in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
The king called on everyone to come out and ask God for forgiveness and repentance for the sins of the slaves and to seek God’s mercy.
The president’s call has already been published by the country’s media.
This prayer is performed in times of drought, or when prayers are offered for a time when it is raining heavily.
