Karim Benzema scored Real’s first goal after Soler woke up in a penalty shoot-out and was told to score again.
Real defender Raphael Varane scored in the 2-1 win over Madrid, and Soler added a penalty after Mercelo fouled Maxi Gomes.
Valencia added another goal from a header, after captain Ramos touched the ball with his hand, and Soler won the penalty.
With this result, Real Madrid are fourth in La Liga with 16 points, one game and four points behind leaders Real Sociedad.
Valencia, meanwhile, are on 11 points after nine games since the start of the season.
Real have been dealt a blow, with Bezema sidelined with a hamstring injury and possibly sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Soler, 23, became only the third player to score three goals in a single match in La Liga.
