Abdulrasheed Maina has been extradited to Nigeria by international police, after being arrested in the Republic of Niger this week.
In a message posted on its Twitter account, the Nigerian police posted pictures of Maina getting off the plane with the police.
Maina was arrested by Nigerien intelligence officials on Monday night.
Abdulrasheed Maina, a former chairman of the Nigerian Pension Reform Commission, is facing 12 charges with another company, all of which have been filed by the EFCC.
The EFCC has accused Maina of using a company account to launder illicit money worth about N2 billion, from which he allegedly bought some assets in Abuja.
