A young woman has killed three people and injured two others after blowing herself up at a rally in Konduga, Borno State, Nigeria.
The AFP news agency quoted aid sources and volunteers as saying the incident happened on Saturday.
“We have removed the bodies of three people and two people who sustained serious injuries from the scene,” said an aid worker.
The attacker detonated an explosive device in her body in the middle of a crowd of people relaxing near the mayor’s house, according to a leader of the volunteer group.
Konduga is 38 kilometers from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is similar to Boko Haram’s use of children during public gatherings.
