Facebook says it has blocked two Russian websites and one linked to the French military over what it calls spreading propaganda to African countries.
He said the site of a Russian resident was linked to the Russian Internet Investigation Agency.
All pages have been deleted for violating Facebook rules, the company said.
Senior company officials say countries facing challenges on such sites include the Central African Republic in the run-up to the general election.
There are also Algeria, Cameroon, Sudan, Niger, Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire and Chad.
