The Nigerian government has extended the deadline for registration of NIN citizenship cards for those who will do so on their phones.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Ministry of Communications on Monday.
Following a meeting between Communications Minister Isa Ali Pantami and other stakeholders such as the NCC chairman, the heads of MTN, Airtel, Glo, DG-NITDA, Smile and 9Mobile.
“Following the approval of the Nigerian government, we have taken this step:
“An additional three weeks for registrants who have a citizenship card number from December 30, 2020 to January 19, 2021.
Then there are six weeks for those who do not have a quarterly number from December 30 to February 9, 2021. “
