The government of Katsina State in northern Nigeria said 340 students of Kankara Secondary School were successfully admitted on Thursday night.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, confirmed this to the BBC, saying that the children of Katsina were being evacuated from the neighboring town of Tsafe in Zamfara State.
Gunmen stormed a men’s boarding school in Kankara on Friday, killing at least 400 children.
Four days later, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau issued a statement claiming the children had been abducted.
