Two men have been set on fire by angry youths in Ibadan, Oyo State, southern Nigeria.
State police spokesman Olugbenga Fadeyi said in a statement that the incident took place on Monday morning.
He added that Amotekun forces rescued one more person from the hands of the youths and handed him over to the police.
“Taking the law into the hands of the people is an affront even though it is common in the state,” Mr Fadeyi said.
“If it is allowed to continue it could be a problem that no one can solve.”
He said his team had launched an investigation into the matter and would not guarantee the law enforcement action in the future.
