Buhari offered his condolences to the 20 doctors killed by the coronavirus

The Nigerian president said the well-being of health workers at the forefront of the fight against the epidemic was a priority for his government.

Buhari made the remarks in a condolence message to the Nigerian Medical Association on the deaths of doctors in the country.

The message, published by the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), did not elaborate on when the 20 doctors died, and whether they died at different times or at the same time.

A total of 82,747 people were infected with coronavirus as of Saturday in Nigeria, and the epidemic has killed 1,246 patients.

President Buhari said the deaths of the country's health workers, who are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus, were unfortunate because such professionals were risking their lives to save the nation.

"Our health workers are making the greatest contribution to the country, in terms of their humanitarian work, and this government will do everything possible to ensure that it meets their needs," Buhari said.

He pointed out that the health workers were working in extreme conditions, but their contribution to saving lives was also underestimated.

President Buhari has said that without fear of contradictory statements, there is no reward for the sacrifices made by the country's health workers, and his government will give priority to the welfare of the people. .
