Christmas 2020: Five things you should know about Christmas celebrations

Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus, as is the custom of every Christian.

Although it is disputed that he was born on December 25, some say that he was not born on that day, but the majority believe that Jesus Christ was born on that day.

The day Jesus was born

Those who say that December 25, the 12th month of the year Jesus was born, base their argument on a number of scriptures.

Mathew chapter 2 verse 11 and Luke chapter 2 verses 8 through 16 both deal with the birth of Jesus on this 25th day.

But the celebration of Christmas originated with the angels, with the good news of Jesus’ birth, as recorded in Luke chapter 2.

And there were in the same country a few servants of God, shepherding the flock, and an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were afraid, as the Lord had said.

It was a happy day

Even when the angels made this announcement, they began to sing songs to find someone who would come to earth in peace, as in verses 15 and 16 of Luke.

“If angels do this to rejoice over the sinless, who should rejoice more than sinners on a daily basis,” said Reverend Murtala Mati Dangora, vice-president of the National Association of Christians in Kano State. .

So joy and happiness are necessary for every creature to participate in the salvation of Jesus Christ.

A day of giving out

It is a day when you may not be able to give as a follower and as a Christian you should compare giving.

The reason is that on that day the world was given the gift of Jesus Christ, who gave his blood for our sins.

“Angels and astrologers unload their bags and offer Jesus gifts of perfumes, corals and gold which were the most precious things at that time so we have to imitate them,” said Rev. Alex Garba Shekau, a pastor at a church in Bompai area in Kano.

Day to prostrate the glory of God

In Mathew, chapter 2, verse 11, these astrologers fall down before the child and worship him, who is also a role model for us.

Therefore, it is a day to glorify God and glorify the name of the Lord, a day when every Christian should go to church and worship in honor of the Lord.

This will serve as a model for the followers, and the world will be asked to forgive the sins of the slaves.

“And the angels said, Fear not; for we bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people; for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” is in the book of Luke.

It is a day of peace and no discrimination

Persecution against Christians and non-Christians was not intended, because the salvation that Jesus brought, on that day, was not discriminated against.

We do not want to be frustrated if we cannot get the right pitch so invest in a good capo.

So at that very day a Christian is not the only one who is given a gift or food prepared for the day.
