CRUISE TALK!! Lawmakers in Nigeria are seeking the establishment of a tea-growing council

The Nigerian Senate has approved a second reading of a tea and coffee plantation at the State House of Assembly on Thursday.

Senator Yusuf Yusuf from Taraba State presented the bill to the House for the first reading on November 7 last year.

If approved, the bill would pave the way for the establishment of a special council to oversee the cultivation, processing and sale of tea and coffee leaves in Nigeria.

Senator Smart Adeyemi from Kogi State stood up in front of the House of Assembly where he supported the bill and demanded the House to approve it, saying the establishment of the House would create jobs and boost the economy.

The bill has now passed its second reading before the National Assembly, which will report back to the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development in four weeks.
