A study in Guinea-Bissau has linked the deaths of more than 2,000 eagles in a land practiced by superstitious people.
Mohammed Henriques, told RFI that the heads, feet and eagles’ feathers are used in worship in West Africa.
He said most of the eagles whose bodies had been found since February were found to be headless.
“The occultists believe that these eagle heads bring wealth,” Henriques was quoted as saying by RFI.
It has been revealed that most eagles are exposed to methiocarb, a poison that is banned in Europe.
