Dubai has extended the visa period for tourists

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) say they have decided to extend the visa ban for tourists for one month.

The Dubai Media Office said the extension was ordered by King Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum without charge.

A statement from the office said the move was prompted by the closure of airports by some countries around the world due to the cholera epidemic.

“The initiative will support tourists and their families who are currently in the UAE so for the New Year holiday,” the office said.

“Government departments will assess and liaise with the appropriate authorities to ensure that visitors remain safe.”

The recent outbreak of cholera has prompted some countries to close their airports again due to the rapid spread of the disease.

Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is one of the world’s largest cities for visitors at any time of the year.
