FOOTBALL LOVERS!! The NPFL will resume on December 27th

Authorities in Nigeria have announced that the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) will resume on December 27.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, made the announcement on Friday while addressing newsmen at Surulere Stadium, Lagos.

Like any other international league, the NPFL has been suspended due to the cholera epidemic.

But as football has returned to the forefront of the international arena without spectators, Nigerian football fans have remained unpopular.

“We have to know the number of clubs that have organized and met the criteria to get started. We will start with all the number of clubs that have organized. The 27th of the month is right and on the day the league will start,” the minister said.

“One of the reasons why the game did not continue after the corona plague was through the organizers. We have been waiting for them. We will talk to the NFF and the NPFL to find out.”

Kano Pillars and Plateau United have already been knocked out of the first round of the Caf Confedrations Cup, which some have attributed to their lack of playing time in the Nigerian league.
