POLITICS!! APC has won all the chairman seats and councillor in Gombe State

The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the mayoral seats and councils in the state elections.

The by-elections were held on Saturday, with the APC winning all 11 local government seats and 114 council seats in the state.

GOSIEC President Saidu Awak told the BBC that it was the people who voted and that was what they chose.

“There are always concerns (about this kind of election results), and I tell people that we are not the ones who vote, we are the ones who vote,” he told the BBC.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya described the election as “peaceful”.

According to Saidu Awak, the three parties contesting the by-elections are APC, PDP and PRP.

The results were announced in the presence of civil society groups, police, journalists and party representatives.

Kano State will also hold its own elections on January 16, with 44 local government leaders and councilors to be elected.
