Breaking : El-Rufai sign executive order to release 12 prisoners

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has ordered the release of 12 people from prison.
A statement from his media adviser said the men included 10 who had been sentenced to three years or more, with six months or less left.
Muyiwa Adekeye said the other two were released due to their advanced age.
“Gabriel Olugbenga was sentenced to seven years in prison for murder in 2016. He is 60 years old and six months left to complete his prison term, which is due to end in June 2021,” he said.
“Tunde Ikuenaya was sentenced to four years in prison in November 2017. He is 64 years old and is expected to complete his sentence in March 2021.”
El-Rufai also reduced the sentences of three other men to five years “because they lived for 10 years or more and were disciplined”.
“Ifeanyi Chiebuike Nweke, Mohammed Mamman Santare and Samaila Danjuma have been sentenced to death on separate occasions.”
Nasir El-Rufai pardoned them in his capacity as governor of Kaduna State, as mandated by section 212 of the Nigerian Constitution.
