Kaduna and Edo say school will not reopen till further notice

At a time when schools are set to reopen across Nigeria, after the federal government said it could resume schooling from January 18 – some states have said schools should not be reopened due to coronary heart disease.

In the northern Nigerian state of Kaduna, the state government has said it has not set a date for the return of students and all schools will remain closed until further notice.

The secretary general of the state education ministry, Phoebe Sukai, said the government was reviewing the issue before deciding on the opening date of schools across Kaduna State.

But the government of southern Edo State has said schools across the country will reopen by February 1.

According to authorities in the state, until the government completes the necessary measures before the opening of the schools.
