Brazil’s health ministry says 641 people have died in the past hour – the highest number in a single day since the cholera epidemic began.
In all, nearly 260,000 Brazilians died.
Health Centre says for the first time the disease has spread across the country. There is a shortage of beds in many state hospitals and the situation continues to deteriorate.
State governors continue to call on the public to respect the lock-in rules and the use of sanctions.
